Chapter 12

I went back to the dorm after my meeting with Elijah. In the room, I found Lucia in a heated conversation with her brother, Abe. Abe turned, and immediately he saw me standing by the door, he stopped.

“Elisabeth, you’re here?” said Abe, as he made Lucia turn in my direction. She saw me at the exact spot and walked to the bed; her eyes fell.

She acted strange, and so did Abe.

“Hey, is everything okay?” I said, but looking toward Lucia, she didn’t even move her eyes up to look back at me.

“I’ll leave,” Abe said, walking past me and his sister, as he exited through the door to our dorm.

As soon as Abe left, Lucia got up from her bed. She looked sideways and gave a small smile at me. “I’ll go out to get something,” she told me as she walked to the door.

I waited, but as she almost made her way outside, I held her hand and brought her attention back to myself once more.

“Hey, can you please tell me what’s going on?” I said to her.
