Jason’s POV

I loved her, and that love became my undoing.

That’s why I let her go. That’s why I helped her escape, even though I knew it would cost me everything. I couldn’t keep her locked up like that. I couldn’t watch her suffer anymore.

But she didn’t leave empty-handed. She left with my heart.
