Chapter 40

That night, I had another one of those strange dreams that teetered on being one of my lost memories. I found myself in the hallway of a large temple-looking structure. The only thing I was able to discern from my surroundings it that the structure was underground.

I slowly made my way down the corridor and to a large set of double doors. They appeared to be made of some type of stone that I did not recognize.

The double doors opened, and I walked through the threshold into a grand room that appeared to be used for worship.

On the far side of the room stood a large statue of a wolf, and just beneath the wolf was a slab of stone that was covered in dark stains.

“Guh!” I felt my entire body become fraught with indescribable pain. I watched in horror as my skin began to peel off as if being sliced off with a knife.
