Chapter 59
At breakfast the next morning, Daring was nowhere to be found. I felt a bit disheartened when I arrived and did not see him.
“Do not fret,” Jormun told me when he noticed me staring at the chair the wolf usually sat in. “I am just letting him sleep in,” he reassured me.
I was glad to see that he did not seem bothered by my choice to sleep with Daring, though I could not say the same for Renard.
“How come that wolf got to sleep with you before I did?” the fox whined. “I waited for three hundred years, you know,” he complained.
“Talking like that only makes me want to force you to wait even longer,” I smiled at him.
He looked totally dejected by my words.
“Ignore him.” Jormun rolled his eyes. “Andra told me you spoke with Killian last night,” he revealed.
I looked over at the older woman, who purposely avoided my gaze. “I was going to bring it up on my own. I just wanted to make sure you were not upset about last night,” I explained.
