Chapter 31

A few minutes after the wedding, I wanted to be swallowed by the earth or struck by lightning because Jacob suddenly arrived. The man was surprised to see me, but when he noticed my wedding dress he just looked at me.

"Why only now? You didn't witness Jake and Natalia's wedding!” His father scolded Jacob and when I looked at his behavior, the man was still shocked and his anger towards me was burning to the bone. His looks were so bad that I immediately looked down because I couldn't stand it.

I hadn't even recovered from Jacob's arrival when Yakeem arrived. I prayed that the ground would just swallow me up but when I felt Jake's hand on mine I forced myself to stay calm.

"Miss Agravante? Are you the bride?”

I just gave a nod to Yakeem's question and kept my head down because I was afraid our faces would meet Jacob's eyes. If Jake hadn't been stressed earlier when we talked on the phone, maybe the young man wouldn't have had a seizure and maybe he would have had fun
