Rose’s POV

I had been searching for Miraelle for what felt like hours.

I knew we were supposed to be looking for the stone, but I couldn’t focus on that right now.

Miraelle had just disappeared, and no matter how much I tried to stay calm, a part of me was beginning to panic.

She had been right behind me. I could still hear her voice from earlier, her nervous attempts to make conversation, trying to apologize again for all the things she had done to me. I didn’t want to think about it.

The memories of how she took Alpha Kanen from me, how she kidnapped my twins, and even accused me of cheating…

Those wounds were still fresh. She said she had changed, but deep down, I didn’t trust her.

But now, none of that mattered. She was gone, and I had no idea where to find her.

I kept walking, calling her name into the trees. “Miraelle! Where are you?”
