Lilly’s POV

A fierce knock jolted me awake.

Disoriented, I sat up, blinking away the remnants of a wild, lingering dream. My body felt heavy and satisfied in a way that made my cheeks flush. I rubbed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to shake off the sleepiness that clung to me like a thick fog.

The sound of another impatient knock echoed through the room, and I realized that whatever awaited me outside was demanding my attention.
