Chapter 93. I Need to See Her

Zane’s POV

While working out at the gym, my mind is consumed by thoughts of Calista. She’s all I think about. She’s stopped responding to my texts, and I doubt she’s replying to Cedric and Draven either. I know how much she values fairness, and that just makes me even more jealous.

I’m worried because, no matter how much I try to reach out, she’s not giving me any signs. Even her friends are clueless. She’s only sent an excuse to the professor, but we’re all in the dark about what’s going on.

It all started after Lysandra caught us. I’m not sure if that’s the reason. Lysandra seems fine with me, though she’s been so busy lately that she doesn’t even have time for a simple family dinner with me.

My phone suddenly buzzed which made my heart start to beat fast. I stood up and dropped the weights I was lifting with the clatter and quickly grabbed them off the bench, expecting Calista’s return to my messages and calls.
