Chapter 14. She Made Me Feel Alive

Jason’s POV

I was seated at the reception desk. Could I say I was happy? I was slightly happy and sad at the same time. Yeah, I have a baby girl now, but I wanted a boy. The news has gotten to my ears that Nyla has given birth.

I wasn’t going to see her again, that was the reality, but I have come to love her, my heart beats for her. For the first time in my life, I met someone who accepted me genuinely. It felt like a part of me had faded away and a deep hollow had been created in my heart. I couldn’t say it was just about the baby, but Nyla too.

Footsteps approached, and I looked up to see Doctor Dart looking back at him, his expression full of concerns. He must be wondering why I haven’t come to see the baby. It’s been two hours since Nyla’s birth. I watched her give birth, but I couldn’t hold back her cry of agony anymore. I have to move away. My heart fluttered with so many mixed emotions. I didn’t want to see her hurt, and I knew she would be gone soon
