Chapter 35. Isabella Bothering Me

Kaelan glanced over his shoulder at me and whispered “Isabella”
I looked away and didn’t say a word.
Kaelan ushered her in.
“Good morning, Everly,” Isabella said, with such a sweet tone that made my teeth ache. She entered my room carrying a silver tray. The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air. “I made this for you. Thought you might enjoy a personal touch.”
I arched a brow, and set my teacup down slowly. “You made this? Yourself?”
She nodded enthusiastically, her blonde curls bouncing. “I did! I woke up early just to prepare it. I wanted to show you how sorry I am for everything.”
Kaelan took a seat and exchanged a glance with me. He looked skeptical and bored with Isabella’s show.
I gave her a tight smile. “Thank you, Isabella. You can leave it on the table.” I pointed to the table in a corner.
