Chapter 10
I could hear Alex’s screams from my room with two pillows over my ears. I didn’t understand why he was screaming so early in the morning, nor did I understand why he was screaming at Max. My brother was still doing the same thing he had been doing for years; when he screamed, he got high-pitched roosters that make you want to rip your ears off and go deaf.
I got out of bed grumpily as I walked down the hallway to the living room. I walked in, stomping, making my brother shut up completely. I walked over to him, slamming his body against the wall. I was very sleepy not to mention the sun was threatening to come out.
“Will you shut up?” I growled, grabbing the collar of his sweater.
He nodded as he swallowed hard. I may not have looked the best in the world, but it wasn’t my fault; falling asleep, I only had nightmares.
“Don’t look at me like that. Don’t rest well.
