The blonde leader frowned.
“And what do you expect us to do? March like an army to a place taken by humans and other inferior creatures, willing to fight and die for you?”
I swallowed dryly.
“Well... considering that you are immortal creatures, I don’t think that part about death is really expected, but in relation to everything else... That’s what I want.”
The leader smiled, then turned to Randall.
“It has always been said by our elder that his companion would be made of wind and steel, to know how to deal with his temperament, but I see that he seems to have been wrong. She’s just made of flesh and blood, and a lot of courage.”
