Chapter 24. Jealousy
“We can’t see Victoria now; it’s too risky; we’re going to my friend’s place; she’s a psychiatrist,” Matthew said as he took the opposite direction of Sarah’s apartment.
“Why do we have to go there?” asked Sarah with a frown. Her eyes were still on the black SUV following them.
“We need to have a reason why we’re in this area,” Matthew said quickly.
“And our reason is?” asked Sarah, who couldn’t find any other idea.
“That you need to do a consultation with a psychiatrist because of the trauma you experienced after seeing Donna’s sudden death,” Matthew replied, looking into Sarah’s eyes through the rearview mirror.
Sarah nodded, “I got it now! You’re so responsive and smart!” she said in awe.
Matthew tried hard not to smile at the compliment.
Meanwhile, behind them, the black SUV was still following them. Matthew deliberately drove at a moderate speed as if they didn’t know they were being followed.
