Chapter 27. Plan B
Sarah stopped her car in front of Amanda’s house. She turned to look at Matthew, who was still sleeping soundly. Suddenly, guilt hit her chest. She shouldn’t have involved him in that complicated matter. Maybe that was time for her to give up. If anything happened to him, she would never be able to forgive herself for the rest of her life.
Unconsciously, she was already closer to him, looking at his eyelashes, which looked thick and adorable. She raised her hand to touch them, but suddenly, he opened his eyes, surprised.
She hurried back and cleared her throat softly, “You have bugs on your face. I was going to take them,” she said without being asked.
He straightened his body, “Really?” he muttered, rubbing his face with his hand. Sarah just nodded her head a few times, her cheeks flushed pink.
“We’re already in front of Amanda’s house. Why didn’t you wake me up?” asked Matthew, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
