Chapter 31. The Confession
“Why? You must be in love with Matthew, huh?” Amanda pointed at her casually as if her question was an unimportant thing.
Sarah snorted, “People like me don’t deserve to be in love; I’m too busy with life,” she said without daring to look Amanda in the eye.
Amanda snorted, laughing, “Do you forget that I’m a psychiatrist? I know you’re lying to me,” she said casually.
Sarah gulped, “You may be a good psychiatrist, but you’re not God. You can’t read what’s in my head,” she mumbled, trying to avoid Amanda’s entirely true accusation.
Amanda laughed. “Come on! We’re both adults, so don’t lie to yourself. It doesn’t matter if you love him, too, because who doesn’t fall in love with a guy like Matthew? But you should know you’re competing with me!” she said lightly.
Sarah shook her head, unsure of what Amanda was saying. “Have you ever spoken more seriously? Or have you always thought of your life as a joke?” she muttered as she looked down at her phone, pret
