Chapter 29. Counter Threats
Matthew pulled Sarah’s hand into a room near the living room. “Wait here, just close the door tightly, I’ll see them,” he said quickly.
Sarah looked at him nervously, “Are you sure?”
Matthew nodded and then rushed out quickly.
After he left, Sarah immediately locked the bedroom door and put her ear to the door to hear what they were talking about.
It wasn’t long before he heard Matthew open the front door, and suddenly, “Where’s Sarah?” asked Rudolph, his voice firm and threatening.
“She’s resting in her room,” replied Matthew promptly.
“I need to talk to her,” said Rudolph.
Inside the bedroom, Sarah shrieked in surprise. She hurriedly jumped onto the bed and covered herself with the blanket.
“She’s still traumatized by what happened to her last night; you can talk to her later,” said Matthew firmly.
“I’m afraid I didn’t come to negotiate, so where is she? Come on, don’t try to fight me; I can break your disguise at any time,” th
