Chapter 34. Kidnapped

“Amanda?!” called Matthew while looking around the rooms. Sarah fiddled with her fingers nervously. Did she do something wrong? Was loving Matthew a mistake? Didn’t Amanda say they could compete pretty for Matthew? Then why did she react that way?

Suddenly, the sound of the car’s engine starting was heard from the courtyard. Matthew and Sarah rushed to the window, and their guess was correct: Amanda left with her black SUV.

“Matthew, you have to go after her!” Sarah said frantically she was on the verge of crying because she felt so guilty.

Matthew stood uncertainly, “I can’t go out; Rudolph'seople is everywhere; if I go, they might come in here, and our plans might fall apart,” he said.

“So what should we do?” Sarah asked, covering her face with her hands. Matthew took a deep breath, “Don’t worry, I know Amanda well. She’s not the type to do careless things. She’s a psychiatrist. She can control her emotions,” said Matthew, trying to calm her.
