Chapter 122. Jealous
“Let me go,” Elaine pushed her savior away.
He let he go and she fell. She rose her head to see Harris smirking at her. He stretched out his hand to her.
“Do you need my help, m’lady?”
“I’m not your lady,” she said, but she took his hand.
He helped her to her feet, then stuck his hand into his pocket. She turned to face Melvin’s door hoping that he would leave, but he stood right there behind her.
After the brief spat with Melvin, she didn’t feel comfortable with Harris. At least, Melvin would listen to her threats. Harris — she didn’t know who he was or what he was capable of.
She knocked on Melvin’s door again. If she were to spend the night here, then she needed a place to sleep. Melvin’s room was not her first choice, but she had noticed a couch in the corner and that looked comfortable. It was better with Melvin, than with Harris.

“What?” She asked, turning to face him.
