Chapter 67. Your Choice, Darling
“It’s not like you really care.”
Those words couldn’t possibly be because she had rammed into the front deck of his car. Her knees had to be red underneath her jeans and there was a small scratch on her right knee. Nothing that would require immediate attention.
He was more worried that she had hit her head against the steering wheel and that her glasses were missing and that she was visibly thinner than the last time they had met. She had eye bags that she had failed to hide.
She’d mentioned once that grandma’s meal was one of the first home cooked meals she’d had in a longtime. Something was definitely off somewhere.
“You’re right. I don’t care, but I won’t let my brother’s fiancée die under my watch.”
“I just want to go home.”
He set the car in motion. Home was not where he wanted to take her to. Talking to her while driving to his grandfather was one way to kill two birds with one stone.
