Chapter 69. Intuition and Chemistry

Andrew stepped into his office with a broad smile on his face. Things were sort of back to normal.

Melvin had marched out of the living room last night and spent the whole night sulking. He wasn’t expected to show up in the office today. Their grandfather, on his grandmother’s insistence, would be working from home. So, only his parents would be present for the interview with Elaine.

His smile faded. She was the only one spinning out of control on the axis of his life. She and Melvin had a month to plan their wedding. He also had a month to stop whatever was forming between them. Was it too soon?

Was Elaine that desperate for money? Could he pay her off? Even if he could, what was the need? After Melvin’s blow off the night before, she would be really desperate or stupid to come back. Maybe both.
