Chapter 66. Car Seat
Elaine stopped just outside the restaurant, where a curving driveway connected the busy city street to the restaurant. She slipped some sunshades out of her pocket before putting it in her face and pressing it to fit. On her way to the restaurant, she had seen a small paparazzi but they seemed to follow a woman with long curly blonde hair. She wouldn’t take any chances though.
She hurried toward the curb. There was no taxi parked around. Only a few cars that were probably worth more than 10 years and a half of her salary. Clearing the bills would keep Andrew busy – or Melvin – whichever one of them would be found by the waiter. And that would give her enough time to get a taxi.
A few cars pulled out of the driveway and a few cars drove past the restaurant but there was no taxi.
“Ma’am.” The young valet had pale skin that flushed in the midday sun.
“Yes?” she put on an accent that was supposed to match Olivia’s.
