Chapter 76. Bring Your Wife to Work
Just one more forward thrust of the chair and she would be within reach of the phone, sweat beads traveled down the sides of her face and her chest ached with the efforts required to move but she clenched her muscles as she prepared for one more thrust.
Getting to the phone was one thing. Dialing Pops number with her hands tied behind her back would be a miracle.
131. The emergency service number.
Her eyes widened at the idea. They were the better choice. There was very little Pops could do from Kentwood.
She tipped her weight back into the chair and sucked a breath through her mouth before she thrust the chair forward. Her chair scraped across the tile and tipped forward bringing her closer to the phone. She kept her weight front facing, so she leaned against the table – balancing the chair and her body on her shoulders against the table.
“Yes!” she cried as she tapped the phone screen with her chin and it lit up with a picture of a young blonde woman
