Chapter 79. Beeping Voice
Frederico had gone up the basement for a long time now and the house had been empty. She’d been waiting for him to begin another fight between himself and his alter ego but there was none, even as he returned to the basement.
He turned her chair around so she faced him, even though he was more of a blurry looking figure of a man. “There’s been a change of plans.”
“Can’t exactly hoist you over my shoulders and take you to the mall but I can sell what you have at the pawn shop while we wait for the letter I mailed to your fiancé to be delivered.”
Elaine screamed. “Don’t touch me.”
“You don’t even seem to have much. Maybe this chain will be worth something.” He reached for her neck and unhooked the chain while she turned her head, trying to avoid the invasion of onion soup breath from invading her nose.
