Chapter 82. Bungalow Mansion
“Hey, wait.”
The bodyguard that Melvin had attached to her carried the last of her box, the smallest, into the house.
“I can carry that myself.”
“Sorry, ma’am. We’re under strict instructions,” the man said.
Since she’d been discharged from the hospital, they had not let her do anything for herself. Not put on her shoes, open the door, even put on her seat belt.
“I’m perfectly fine and able to move by myself.” She folded her arms but the third body guard, the female one, held the door open with one hand and ushered her in with the other. “Where’s Melvin?”
At the hospital, he’d been by her bedside all the time, yapping on and on about his cars and their wedding and what they would name their first child. She refused to name their first child Melvin Jr and they got into a fight over it, after which he left and she hadn’t heard from him until the bodyguards picked her up.
“He’s sorry he couldn’t make it,” Reiki, the female bodyguard, replied.
