Chapter 11. Darken
Juliet runs up the fleet of stairs as she heads for her room.
Reaching her room, she enters, bangs the door close, and runs to her bed. She crashes her face first on the king-sized bed and lets all her bottled-up tears fall.
She cries and cries feeling the pain resurfacing all over again.
All those years she had to suffer because of what Lucien had done.
The humiliation, the mocking, the pain. It had almost led her to commit suicide.
She would have most definitely been dead by now if that stupid Brooks had not saved her.
Juliet hates Lucien but she despises that disgusting Brooks even more.
She is glad the wedding had been called off otherwise, she wonders what she would have done.
Juliet is sure Brooks has a hidden agenda behind wanting to marry her, but her parents fail to see that.
They worship Brooks as if he were a god and refuse to see the reason.
Different thoughts rush through her mind as she lies there.
