Chapter 78
I knew that I had to act fast. I couldn’t stay in Miriam’s house forever. I had a mission to complete - a promise to keep.
“I have to go,” I said, my voice firm. “I’ll take care of Suleiman. I promise.”
Miriam’s eyes filled with tears. “Please be careful,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
I nodded, my heart heavy with the weight of the task ahead. I left the house and made my way through the dark alleys of the city.
As I walked, I could feel the eyes of the Saracen guards on me. They were everywhere, lurking in the shadows, waiting for their chance to strike.
I knew that I had to be careful. I had to find a way to get close to Suleiman - and take him down.
But it wouldn’t be easy.
I stumbled and stumbled, each step more arduous than the last, all the way through the winding, cobblestone streets of Jerusalem.
I finally came upon some of them, a couple of Saracens, patrolling the streets, probably looking for me.
