Sophia’s POV

I was surprised at her statement and asked, “Why do you say so?”

“Well, I talked to your dad on the phone, and he told me that he’d like you to resume your classes,” she said. “The conflict between the werewolves and vampires seems to have cooled down, so it’s safe to start going to school.”

“I’d like to go, but my school is out of town,” I said.

“Sophia, I know that you can teleport,” she said with a smirk on her face, as though she was proud of the fact that she knew.

“Miss Ava,” I said, “the truth is, I don’t like the behavior of the people in my town.”

“Really?” replied Miss Ava.

“Yeah, they are really judgmental,” I said, “and they make fun of me for being a hybrid.”

“Well, it’s their loss that they can’t recognize a gem when they see one,” said Miss Ava, “you’re more beautiful and more powerful than any of them, okay?” she said as she held my face in her two palms.
