Chapter 12. Daxton Takes Care of Aurora

After dinner, Aurora helped Daxton set up Leo's nursery. Every time her hands brushed with his, she could feel the goosebumps erupt on her skin. She was acutely aware of his stare all the time, as if he could read her through. They were nearly done when his phone vibrated with an incoming call. Aurora noted that someone named Meg was calling him. Was she his girlfriend? But he did mention that he didn't have anyone in his life. Maybe she was the one he was planning to propose. 

Daxton accepted the call. "Yes, Meg, " he said absent-mindedly as he fixed the last screw of the baby cabinet in Leo's nursery.

"Look, I don't have it with me right now. I'll take it to the office, okay?" he said, picking up a musical animal mobile to fix to the crib. Aurora tried not to listen to his conversation, but it was difficult not to. Her mind kept wandering about what he wanted to carry with him to his office to give Meg. Was it a ring?
