Chapter 14. Awkward Sleeping Arrangements

Aurora played with Leo, but her mind was on what Daxton was doing in the kitchen. Finally, Daxton appeared with their food.

"Da.da.. da," said Leo, sucking his big toe, with drool all over his mouth. Daxton grinned at him, and then at Aurora. Aurora's mouth hung open in disbelief. 

"That's his first word. He just called me, " said Daxton, giving her a victorious look. Aurora shook her head.

"It was just gibberish," she told him, not wanting to believe it. 

"Wait and watch him say it again," said Daxton, with a grin. They started eating. It was simple but delicious. "How's it?" he asked eagerly. 

"It's delicious. Thank you, " she appreciated making Daxton smile with satisfaction. 

"No need to thank me again and again. I told you how you could pay me back," he told her. Aurora nodded. She would make something equally delicious for him when she was better.

"Yes, when I get better, I'll make something for you," said Au
