Chapter 28. Stay with Me Forever?

They had slept together before, but sleeping together in Nate’s childhood room was something very special for Claire. After the overwhelming welcome she received from Nate’s family, Claire felt a strange connection to this place and his family. 

“You have a football stadium instead of a room. I love it,” she said, looking all around the place. 

“I’m glad. Then have you changed your mind?” asked Nate, coming up behind her. Claire whirled around to face him.

“About what?” she asked, although she could guess what he was talking about. 

“About us,” he said, coming closer. Claire stepped back with her heart beating wildly in her chest. She had noted a strange restlessness in Nate since last night and more so on reaching his home. He looked a little desperate. 

“Us? There’s no us,” she told him. “I’ll return to New York after the wedding,” she told him. But her statement did not deter Nate. He kept proceeding till he was inches away fro
