Chapter 61. Premium
Sitting inside a black Porsche SUV could sometimes make one too comfortable that one would likely lose focus. This is almost the cade with Lara. Ever since that night at the dinner, Chris had exchanged phone numbers with her and they have been in constant communication.
Recently he had been offering to help her out with her search for a new job and his presence and company seems to ease her hallucinations. However, this new interaction doesn’t seem to go well with Meg as her once loving friend has developed intense hostility toward her.
“Hey…” Chris’ voice pulls her out of her mind. She turns to face him and a smile spreads on her face. He is clad in a brown, lightly stripped shirt and gray colored trousers which have been neatly ironed, and the smell if his perfume engulfs the space giving it a masculine aura.
“Thank you, Chris. I don’t know if I will be able to pay you back for all your goodness and kindness.” She intones, but he waves it off.
