“This is all exciting. Do you know how furious it makes my brother that I’m here and he isn’t?” Emery said, beaming. “He always thought he was better than me, like I asked to be an omega.”

“Does he know about the baby?” I asked.

She frowned. “No, my parents would kill me! I’m already not living the life they wanted for me. Imagine if they hear I’m pregnant for the Alpha and he already has a mate.”

“What’s Tristan going to do?”

Emery let out a deep sigh. “He said he’s going to leave Jade as soon as we get home.”

“For real?!” I gasped.

“I’ll believe it when I see it.”

So will I, but I didn’t say that because I didn’t want to dampen her confidence.

“I’m back! Let’s look for your rooms,” Elowen said joyfully.

“Great, I can’t wait to sit down. I’m exhausted,” Emery said.

“Right, I’m sorry I haven’t been taking great care of my pregnant friend.”
