Chapter 26
Scarlett’s POV
“You’re making me feel like a bad person, not reciprocating.” He grunts, still looking at the ground with his head on my thigh. Each part of his speech that forces air out of his mouth tickles me in a way that sends goosebumps rippling through my skin.
“Oh, don’t worry about that. You love me too.”
This, he defends with a lot more vehemence than my confession.
“You’re delusional, Scarlett. Up next, you’ll probably kidnap me and tie me to a chair, then force me to say the words.” He snorts.
“I mean, if you’re into that kind of play, then sure. I can make it work.” I shrug, then tug roughly at his hair almost immediately. “Tell me you love me!” I growl, and almost immediately, he fires back, hauling me over his shoulder and causing me to scream loud enough for the manager of the restaurant to run out of the restaurant to save the damsel in distress.
