Chapter 60. Meeting the Beast

Nate’s expression grew even more serious. “The forest where Elder Roy was attacked? If the beast is using that area as its territory, it means we have to be extremely cautious.” 

Maddie nodded, already regretting why she had agreed to do any of this. She had no skills whatsoever. She had never been trained before so how was she even going to help? Her nerves were tingling with fear and anticipation. “I know. But if that’s where it is, then that’s where we need to go.” 

Nate took a moment to think, his eyes scanning the horizon as if weighing their options. “Alright,” He said finally. “We’ll need to be prepared. Tonight, we will gather some supplies and plan our approach. We will head into the forest before midnight. We need to move fast, we don’t have much time.”
