Nate’s driver’s arrival interrupted Maddie’s swirling thoughts. The sleek SUV pulled up quietly, and the driver stepped out to open the door for them. Nate guided Maddie into the back seat, his hand warm and steady on her arm. 

As they settled into the car, the familiar hum of the engine provided a comforting background noise. The alpha’s presence beside her was reassuring, but she could not shake the unsettling thoughts that had taken root in her mind.
