Chapter 65. It All Goes to Sh*t, Cafe Edition
Nate took a sip of his coffee, nodding slowly. “Yeah, it could be someone from the town, or it could be an outsider. We don’t have enough information yet. That’s why it’s crucial for us to lay low and just stay vigilant. We need to keep our eyes and ears open, and not jump to conclusions.”
Maddie sighed, feeling the weight of the uncertainty. “I just hate feeling we’re sitting ducks, you know? Waiting for something to happen,” She confessed.
Nate reached across the table, placing a comforting hand on hers. As soon as he did, her eyes shot to Jacob was literally watching the whole thing with an annoyed look. She gently removed her hand and waited for the alpha’s reply.
“I know, Maddie. But sometimes patience is our best strategy. We will figure this out.”
