It was not quite unusual for Lucas to see women act so rashly. He had enough experience with his flings to know that most women weren’t always as calm and collected as his sister. With that knowledge, he had made himself immune to their tantrums.
Nevertheless, Ava’s behavior bothered him, he shouldn’t have been concerned that his words had hurt her; he was. He had not shown it but when she told him she hated him, when she started crying, he felt a lump in his throat that made it impossible for him to swallow his words. Maybe it was the fact that she was not just a fling, as of that night she was his fiancé, she would become his wife and probably mother to his children. That was why he felt that way or so he told himself.
“You’ll have to leave now,” he said to the fling as he dragged her away from where Ava could see them.
The fling teased his chest with her finger. “I understand, maybe we should see tomorrow.”
