Chapter 24. Hot Desire

“Good to see you again, Ms. Williams,” Alex said as he approached, accompanied by a lady. The lady’s coral-black hair flowed over her shoulders, and she had a bubbly outlook with slender eyebrows. Alex stood face to face with Lacey, staring in admiration until he was interrupted by a fit of cough that escaped the lady’s lip. When Alex glanced at her, she signaled with her head in expectation for Alex to introduce her.

“Oh, my bad!” Alex said. He had finally come back to his senses about the proper thing to do. He glanced at the lady, calling her by her name. “Jane, this is Lacey,” he said. He turned to Lacey and continued, “Lacey, this is Jane.”

Jane reluctantly stretched her hand to shake Lacey’s. Her smile was sly and mischievous, hinting at jealousy. “Nice to meet you,” she said.
