Chapter 46. Stopping By

The gate opened with a loud rustling sound, startling Detective Jones into action. He drew out his service revolver and pointed it toward the gate. Seeing Alex walking out, Detective Jones emitted a soft sigh, lowering his gun. Ruby approached and stood in front of Alex. “Tell me you found her,” she rolled her eyes.

“I did,” he said. “But she doesn’t look so well.”

“What!” Ruby and Jones exclaimed at once. Detective Jones walked up to Alex. “What happened to her?” he asked with curiosity in his voice.

Alex emitted a heavy sigh. “Wolfbane happened,” he said. Switching his gaze back to Ruby, he continued, “Any spell to help clear the wolfbane from her system?”

Ruby shook her head, “None that I know.”

“What happened?” Detective Jones cut in. His curiosity needed to be satisfied. “Who injected her with wolfbane?”

Detective Jones was desperate to find out what happened. He had little knowledge about werewolves since he was close to the Williams family.
