Chapter 50. Keeping Warm
WILLIAMS HOTEL
It was a hard call for Lacey to make while Monica was still pissed off with Alex. She let Alex spend the night with her. Lacey prompted Monica to let go. She explained further, letting her know what happened wasn’t on Alex.
“But why then did he refuse to press charges?” Monica queried.
“No matter what my late parents did, I would’ve never dragged them to court,” Lacey told Monica. “Please, let it go if you care for me. I love him.”
The day had dawned. The just risen sun poured its golden light through the window and lit the scene of Lacey’s room.
She was still asleep. Alex was lying next to her on the same bed. He was awake already, leaning on his side. He supported his side with his arm as he stared and stared at Lacey, admiring her beauty. Without make-up, her beauty was still radiant.
