Chapter 58. The Doubt
COFFEE SHOP
Lacey sipped her coffee as she waited patiently for Detective Jones. He was supposed to meet her an hour ago at the coffee shop, but he called to apologize for being late because of pressing matters arising in his Precinct. Lacey glanced at her wristwatch. It was past 3 PM.
It’s been one month since New Yorkers raged against werewolves in an attempt to capture them. The 84th Precinct did a good job of curbing the rising agitation. Lacey, however, noticed some sinister side to her uncle and tried to get out of the relationship she was forced into with Lucky. She has been unable to reach Alex; she decided to confide in Detective Jones about the latest happenings around her.
