Chapter 57. Turning Around
SOMEWHERE IN THE WOODS
It was another night of rage—without Monica killing humans. Her plan did work. The folks just ran out of bullets, tossing their guns away--they fled screaming at the top of their voices.
Seeing she had accomplished her plans, she let out a terrifying howl to make sure they kept running until they left the woods. She didn’t turn away but pursued them for a few kilometers and finally came to a halt.
Shapeshifting back to her human form, she ran at an accelerated speed back to her old blue truck. “I’m coming, Lacey,” she muttered to herself.
JANE’S APARTMENT
Lacey finally regained consciousness. She was still groggy but managed to sit up. Her sight was drawn to the mysterious lady standing over the bodies of the men. She did recognize her. It’s the same whispering spirit that tried to lure her out of Williams Hotel.
