Of all the many things Charles had proved himself to be, being a perfect gentleman stood out as the best character trait.
I didn’t expect him to show up at my house to pick me up, but he did, and in a shiny convertible that had Ashley drooling.
But the convertible was not what had my attention. It was Charles in grey shorts, a JORDAN hoodie, and white sneakers standing at my door. His hair was unlike its natural style, ruffled and wild over his forehead, giving him the hot, bad-boy-next-door kinda vibe. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this version of Charles, but what the hell. I’ve only known him for a week and a few days.
And there were probably other versions of him that remained undiscovered.
He took a sweet moment to run his gaze over my very simple getup—jeans and a purple cardigan for the night’s weather—before asking, “You ready to go?”
