Chapter 45. Gratitude
Rose’s POV
“Kael, don’t go…” I chuckled and went to pick him up as he was crawling outside the kitchen.
Today, I was helping the chef make dinner and snacks for Kael. He was growing into such a big boy, and I was super grateful to be able to watch him develop.
Life after I got past getting myself to stay back in Germany wasn’t as bad as I imagined it would be. I had been at the Alastor mansion for a month now. I had settled in nicely, thanks to Ferdinand.
I hadn’t seen much of Nathaniel, though; he was hardly around, and whenever he was, he was only interested in spending time with his son, which was good, I guess.
Every attempt I had made to try to find out what had happened with Kael’s mom had not been successful. No one spoke about her in the mansion. And Ferdinand didn’t say anything to me either. Eventually, I decided to let things be.
