Ayleen couldn’t sleep the whole night, nor could she focus on her studies. Every second, Mr. Ibrahim’s sullen face and the accusations laid by the devil started ramming her mind. The only person after Selina and Gran who was sincere to her, considered her a gold digger. Not only did she lose her self-respect, but she was still trapped inside the devil’s cage.

She was jarred out of her thoughts by Zinta.
“Huhh!” she responded, her hands chopping the dry fruits halting for a second.
“Are you alright?” Zinta mumbled in a low tone, mindful of the other maids working in the kitchen.
“Yes, I am! Why?”
“Your eyes look puffy!” she replied, looking concerned.
Ayleen bitterly smiled, “You are going to see that a lot, Zinta.”
