Mia POV

Pack members ran for their lives, while I headed into the battle without thinking.

It was brutal.

Bodies flew, screams blended with snarls and the metallic scent of blood filled the air.

I found Kai among the wolves. His jaw was locked on another wolf’s arm and he tore it off. Blood splattered and he turned.

Our eyes met.

“What the hell are you doing? You promised you wouldn’t come out” he yelled through the mind link.

“I want to help”

“Go back” he ordered.

“No. I won’t leave you”

Before he could say another word, a wolf ran up to him and they collided in a bloody fight. Kai dipped his claw into his opponent’s neck.

I looked around and realized something was strange. The enemy wolves who had been killed began to rise. Their bones cracked into place.
