Chapter 8. Rage and Discomfort
Kristain watched with disinterest as Riyadh left the dining table immediately after she was done with her meal without waiting for the others. She grumbled a low goodnight to them all and walked off. No, she ran off as fast as her legs could carry her. She moved as if she couldn’t wait to leave their presence.
He turned back to the table and saw that his father and his sister were also looking at her as she departed. Mr. Nazir concentrated on his plate as if he had no idea his daughter had just left the table.
He fished around with his meal, his appetite gone though he could finally breathe properly. The tension he had felt with Riyadh around was gone, and he relaxed in his chair, staring at his food.
