It was familiar. The look, the way my heart escalated whenever I felt his eyes on me. The way my legs went weak at his mere presence. I knew it was unavoidable. Silence prevailed as soon as he entered the lecture theater. All of a sudden, I felt bitterness at the pit of my tongue. I needed something to occupy my taste buds. And Blake was nowhere to be found.
He burned me down with his gaze. Something in me told me to excuse myself and leave the class, while some part of me disagreed. If I chose the former and left the class, it would give him the satisfaction that I was afraid to face him. I couldn’t let him have that.
