My palms were gently resting on my lap as I blinked twice at the woman’s question toward me.

“Did you send the email to Mr. Hunter?” Her question sounded new to my ears. If only she knew.

“Um… Mrs. Elizabeth, I…” I trailed off, finding a sensible excuse to use to escape.

“I think he has accepted the apology.”

“Excuse me?” I said almost immediately, my eyes going wide at her statement. I didn’t even do anything yet.

A smile made its way out of her lips. “Don’t worry. This is a good sign. Since Mr. Hunter has accepted your apology in one go, you won’t be in trouble,” she said, intertwining her hands together. “This is an opportunity to redeem yourself.”

Redeem myself? Did I commit any sin? I don’t understand this woman.

“Um… Mrs. Elizabeth, since he has accepted the apology, then no need to do anything more?” I voiced out, forming my lips into a thin line.
