Silence was the only thing that prevailed in the room. Yet, it was cold as ice. My attention was solely focused on the man as he was taking a sip of his tea. His addiction. The only thing I know the old man enjoyed doing was creating time for himself to take tea.
And I know things weren’t good when he ignored me. Like I was invisible. No matter how hot-headed or proud I was, I succumbed to the old man. I know what he has done for me. That gratitude was something I would not take for granted. I breathed out a sharp breath.
